Lowe's was founded in 1946, starting off as one small hardware store in North Carolina. As of January 2016, Lowe's has grown to more than 1,849 stores throughout the United States, Mexico and Canada. If you're a contractor with a complaint about your Lowe's experience, there are several methods in which you can let your voice be heard.

1. Use Form for Online Experience

Provide feedback about your Lowes.com experience on its website. Click on the "Contact Us" link found at the bottom of the Lowe's homepage. Click on "How can I provide feedback about my Lowes.com experience" next to the "My Online Experience" section. Fill out your name and email address and type your complaint in the Comments box. Click whether you wanted to be contacted regarding your comments, and submit your message. If you click "yes", a customer care representative will call you and you can further explain and resolve your issue. Otherwise, the company will send you an email to let you know it received your complaint.

You can file a complaint about your store experience on its website. For example, if you discovered the construction materials you purchased were dented once you reached the job site, and upon return to Lowe's the manager begrudgingly exchanged the goods but was rude, suggesting you had dented the materials after purchase. Click on the "Contact Us" link found at the bottom of the Lowe's homepage. Click on "How can I provide feedback about my store experience" next to the "My Store Experience" section. Fill out the form, including your name and email, choose the location of the store from the drop down menu and type in your complaint. If you want to be contacted by a representative, click the Yes button and submit.2

3. Submit Online Form for Installation Experience

If you sub-contracted Lowe's to install flooring, countertops, roofing, air conditioning or other installation on one of your projects and the work was substandard and did not meet the agreed-upon specifications, you can submit a complaint about the installation using the online comments form. On the Customer Care page, click "View All Frequently Asked Questions" under the "Product & Services" section. Then, click on "How do I submit a complaint about an installation experience?" Fill out the form, selecting whether you want to be contacted and submit.

4. Call Customer Service

Call 1-800-445-6937 (1-800-44 LOWES) to complain about anything Lowe's-related, including product complaints, although they may refer you to the manufacturer. Lines are open Monday through Saturday, 7 a.m. through 11 p.m., and Sunday, 10 a.m. through 7 p.m. This method to complain about your Lowes.com experiences will yield more immediate results than online versions.

5. Go to Customer Care Desk

Go to the customer care desk at a Lowe's to complain about your store or installation experience. You can also complain about a product and find out what to do next, which will vary among manufacturers. Ask to speak to the manager if the matter is not resolved or if you feel as if you are not being listened to. You can also write a letter to the store manager and mail it to the store.
