The Konica Minolta bizhub 161f small business office machine utilizes a standby mode, also known as sleep mode, to conserve energy. The bizhub 161f doesn't have an "Off" switch to completely disable the sleep mode feature. Instead, it allows users to disable the sleep mode when active with the touch of a button or to set the feature so that it will only turns on after a set amount of time–between 1 minute and 4 hours–has passed.

Push any button on the control panel to end the sleep mode so that you can use the Konica Minolta bizhub 161f office machine .

Push the "Utility" button under the "Printer" button on the left side of the control panel when the unit isn't in sleep mode if you want to reset the factory unit inactivity energy conservation settings. Wait for “MACHINE SETTING?” to appear on the display and push the number “2” key on the 10-key pad.

Enter a number on the keypad between 1 and 240 for the number of minutes you want the machine to be inactive before sleep mode enables, and then push the "Yes" button to the right of the display to save the new setting.

Tip

If you enter the wrong number of minutes, push the “No/C” button located under the “Yes” button. Wait for “STOP SETTING?” to appear on the display and then push “Yes” to reset the option and start over.

Warning

After the bizhub 161f "wakes" from sleep mode, it can take up to 25 seconds for it to prepare to print.
