Email is an inexpensive and effective way to promote your business services to customers and prospects. You can send scheduled newsletters, e-cards, coupons, blogs and numerous other tools to reach and target customers. Many email promotional websites, such as constantcontact.com provides inexpensive services, where you can customize templates to fit your marketing goals. Another great feature about email promotional tools is that they allow you to track how many people received your email, opened it and clicked links.

Step 1

Email newsletters, also referred as e-newsletters, to customers to provide information that pertains to your business and your industry. Provide information your customers and potential customers will find helpful and informative, so that they look forward each month to reading your e-newsletters and view you as the "go to" source in your field.

Step 2

Email postcards to announce upcoming sales, introduce a new product or service, or provide a small tidbit of information related to your industry.

Step 3

Email e-cards to customers as a tool to acknowledge a holiday or a celebratory time in their life. This shows that you care about your customers and your business relationship extends past them buying products or services. Thank you cards are another way to let customers know that you appreciate their business. This keeps your business on the minds of past customers.

Step 4

Email coupons to your customers as a way to draw them to your business. This can be an effective tool that brings awareness to your business, while offering customers another reason to shop your business or service. Coupons should have an expiration date so customers know they must be redeemed within a certain time period. Also the use of the term "exclusive offer" makes customers feel special.

Step 5

Write an informative blog and email your customers asking them to subscribe to it. Include information about your business, such as ways to use your products and services. Blog entries should be brief and interesting.

Tips

  • Manage your contact database so that you can decide which customers will receive each email promotion.
