How to Sell Church Pews

Church pews can be quite well made and elegant. Some from older churches may even be antiques. According to US News, mainline denominations have shrunk by 25 percent since 1990. This has resulted in 3,500 to 4,000 churches closing their doors each year in the United States, according to Campus Church Networks. As congregations shrink and churches close, there are more pews up for sale. There are ways to sell pews for profit.

Advertise the pews in online auctions such as Old and Sold Antiques or Fontaine's Antique Auctions.

Place an ad in a publication like Uncle Henry's. These publications have print or online versions and have a wide audience.

Sell antique or wooden pews to pubs or microbreweries. These restaurants are often decorated to resemble English pubs, and often feature long tables, pews or benches.

Sell newer or antique pews on sites for used church furniture such as UsedChurchFurniture.com. It has a section dedicated to used pews.
