An limited liability company, or LLC, is a business structure that gives owners a limited liability for the actions and debts of the business. According to the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), LLCs are a popular business structure for that reason and because LLCs are structured more like a partnership than a corporation. If you have a LLC registered in Oklahoma you have to renew it each year with the state. This is something that you can do on your own since it is an easy process.

Step 1.

Click on the “Business Services” tab on the Oklahoma Secretary of State website (see Resources). This takes you to the Business Filing Department page.

Step 2.

Look for the link for online forms that is simply titled “Online.” It is included at the end of a sentence about how to get business forms. Or you can click on “Download Forms” on the left side of the screen. This takes you to the business forms page where the forms are listed according to business structure, such as corporation and LLC.

Step 3.

Scroll down and click on “Oklahoma Limited Liability Companies” to get to the forms that are specifically for LLCs. Click on “Restated Articles of Organization Form” to open or save the form to your computer.

Step 4.

Print out the form and complete it with your LLC information. Once it is completed it has to be sent to the Oklahoma Secretary of State office at Business Filing Department, 2300 N. Lincoln Blvd., Room 101, Oklahoma City, OK 73105-4897. Be sure to enclose the fee payment, which is $50 as of February 2010.

Alternatively, business forms can be retrieved in person at the Oklahoma Secretary of State office in Oklahoma City at 2300 N. Lincoln Blvd. in Room 101.
