How to Reset a Meter

The Pitney Bowes E600 is a postage machine designed to print the proper postage on envelopes in lieu of stamps. Occasionally, you may receive an error message that says "reset meter," which will prevent you from printing envelopes. If this ever happens, you can reset the meter easily by removing and reattaching the meter component.

Turn the postage machine off by turning the metal key into the "unlock" position and moving the operating lever away from the "operate" position.

Lift the meter display out of the machine to disconnect it. This meter is located on the top of the machine and is easily disconnected by pulling up on it.

Reattach the meter by placing it back in its original position on the machine.

Turn the machine's lever back to the operate position and turn the metal key back to the "lock" position. The postage machine should again be ready for use.
