How to Submit Your Press Release Free on the Web

Using a pricey press release distribution service is no longer required to spread the word about your product or service via the Internet. In fact, distributing your own press release is as simple as signing up for a free online service and filling in the necessary information in as little as five to 10 minutes. The website PRLog, for example, offers free distribution of your press release to Google News, numerous search engines and RSS feeds, as well as a search function and directory.

Visit the free press release distribution website PRLog.

Click "Submit Free Press Release Here." Fill in the required information and click "Create Account." Go to your email inbox. Click on the link contained in the message from PRLog to verify your account. Click on "Click Here To Continue."

Click "Submit PR." Enter a headline of up to 100 characters in the required field. Select a pressroom in the drop-down menu. Enter the image text in the text box. Click "Next."

Enter a summary of your press release of up to 250 characters in the required field. Enter up to 8,000 characters for the body of your press release into the box beneath the summary.

Select a category, the name of the author or the company issuing the press release and the contact email address in the required fields. Optionally upload an image, five to 10 relevant tags or keywords separated by commas and your company profile. Select "As Soon As Possible" or enter your preferred date and time of when you would like your press release distributed. If you wish, add your contact details in the appropriate spaces.

Click "Go to Final Step." Preview your press release, and click "Modify Press Release" to make any changes. Hit "Submit" to publish your press release.
