Becoming a distributor of beauty products is a great way to earn extra money if you are interested in skin care, beauty and makeup. You can sell products online, at home parties or open up your own storefront. There are many opportunities available, and the opportunity you choose will depend on your needs and overall goals.
Find a company to associate with. There are many beauty companies that sell products via independent distributors. Mary Kay, Avon, Arbonne and Affordable Mineral Makeup all offer a distributor opportunity.
Evaluate the offerings. Each company offers different compensation plans, sign-up fees and cost of materials. Evaluate each company’s offerings by reading their website. You may have to give your name and contact information in order for a consultant to contact you with more information about the opportunity.
Come up with a plan. You need to figure out how you are going to sell the products. Make a list of your target market and how you are going to reach them. If you cannot come up with a sales plan, then you should reconsider becoming a distributor.
Sign up with the company. Once you choose a company, you will have to sign up by signing a contract and paying some sort of initiation or registration fee. You may also have to place an order for a certain amount of products and supplies.
Open a separate bank account. Contact your financial institution in order to open a bank account that you will only use for your business activities.
Begin to sell the products. Once your supplies have arrived, you can begin to sell the products according to the plan you came up with.
Every company has regulations on how their products can and cannot be sold. Before you sign up, make sure you understand if you are allowed to have a website, advertise online, advertise locally, sell at mall kiosks or employ other methods that you plan on using.
