How to Get a Refund From TracFone

TracFone is a prepaid mobile phone provider that operates in the United States. If you purchase a cell phone from TracFone and are not satisfied with your purchase for any reason, you can return the phone to TracFone within 30 days and receive a full refund. TracFone does not, however, offer refunds for unused service cards or minutes.

Step 1

Call TracFone, at 800-867-7183. Tell the customer service representative that you would like to return your phone and get a refund. TracFone will only accept a return if the phone was purchased in the last 30 days.

Step 2

Get a return authorization number (RMA) from the customer service representative and also get the address to send the phone to. Package the phone in a box and write the RMA number on the shipping label. You are responsible for paying for the shipping costs of returning the phone. It is advisable to ship the phone with a tracking number.

Step 3

Ship the phone to the address provided by the TracFone customer service representative. TracFone will credit your account within 30 days of receipt of the returned phone.

Tips

  • If you bought a TracFone from a retail store, such as Target, Walmart, CVS or Rite-Aid, you can also return it there. Return policies vary by store. Target, for instance, requires you to bring the receipt, packaging and included accessories within 30 days of purchase.
