Exhibiting at a convention or trade show requires a display booth. You can assemble PVC pipe and standard fixtures to meet the 10-foot-by-10-foot standard dimensions of a trade show booth. Create your booth from utility grade, Schedule 40 PVC -- using black, white, grey or clear PVC. Upgrade your booth with colorful PVC pipe and fixtures in red, yellow or blue.
Items you will need
- All PVC items in two-inch nominal size
- Seven each Schedule 40 PVC pipe, 10-foot lengths
- Six each Schedule 40 PVC pipe, five-foot lengths
- Two each Schedule 40 fixtures, four-way
- Two each Schedule 40 fixtures, three-way
- Six each Schedule 40 fixtures, 90-degree elbows
- Rubber mallet
Assemble the lower half of the back wall frame. Tap a three-way fixture on each end of a 10-foot section of PVC pipe. The three-way fixture openings should face inward, upward and to the front of the booth. Insert a five-foot section of PVC pipe in the vertical opening of each three-way fixture. Tap with a rubber hammer to seat the pipe in the fixtures. Connect the two three-way fixtures with a 10-foot section of PVC pipe. Place a four-way fixture at the top of each five-foot upright pipe section. The four-way fixtures are set so openings face inward, upward, downward and to the front of the booth. Connect the two, four-way fixtures with a 10-foot section of pipe. The bottom half of the back wall is complete.
Construct the upper half of the back wall. Insert a five-foot section of pipe into the upward opening of each four-way fixture. Place a 90-degree elbow at the top of each five-section of pipe. Connect the elbows with a 10-foot section of pipe. The top half completes the back wall frame.
Build the two side walls. Insert a 10-foot section of pipe into two 90-degree elbows. Connect the elbows with a five-foot section of pipe. Duplicate this setup for the opposite side of the booth. Stand the back wall of the booth up with the help of a second installer. Insert the two sections of 10-foot pipe into the openings of the three-way and four-way fixtures that face toward the front of the booth. Tap all fittings with a rubber mallet to firmly seat pipes in fixtures. The framework for the booth is complete. Finish the booth with materials of your choice.
